Dakota has a rare heart condition which will require a lot of medical attention and multiple visits to PA, so he can see his doctors at CHOP. Dakota was diagnosed and born with a rare heart defect “Corrected L Transposition with a Complete Heart Block” which he required two open heart surgeries and placement of a pacemaker.
He will need multiple surgeries to his pacemaker over the years along with a major Double switch (4 valve replacement) or possible heart transplant due to heart failure. His heart at this time requires multiple medications to help his heart pump and keep him from congestive heart failure.
The family needs assistance due to the amount of time required for Dakotas care and the care of their 3 year old son. Dakota requires a lot of attention for his medical condition along with being on a feeding tube and his medication delivery.
