Maureen Brigid Dwyer entered the world on February 10, 2004, at 8:42 am. It was a pregnancy that had its issues, but our faith in God prepared us for the family journey. Maureen Brigid a.k.a. Mighty Mo was diagnosed with severe malformation of both eyes. She was a patient of Wills Eye in Philadelphia and Johns Hopkins in Maryland, Goryeb Children in Morristown, Dr Putnam in West Orange as well as frequent checks to her local Doctor.

Early Intervention
By the time Mighty Mo was 4 weeks old, early intervention had therapists at the house, at the Center next door, the commission for the blind, and weekly music classes. We have reassured each visit that Mighty Mo was just that: mighty, healthy, and happy, and to keep doing what you are doing. The 5 sets of eyes (Lawrence, Shawn, Casey, Stephen, and Patrick) are exactly what she needed…plenty of stimulation. The Dwyer family felt blessed that so many people offered assistance while we were navigating the day-to-day. Life was good.

Sudden Seizure
Then out of nowhere, Mo had a seizure, Larry rushed her to the hospital and days later Maureen Brigid Dwyer, at 13 months, died peacefully, on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Baby Maureen, whose nickname was “Mighty Mo” was a loving daughter and sister. She was a joy to have and to be part of a very devoted family. Baby Maureen will be sadly missed, but will live forever in the hearts and minds of those that she touched.

Surviving are loving parents, Lawrence Jr. and Maureen Casey Dwyer; her devoted siblings, Lawrence III, Shawn, Stephen, and Patrick and sister, Casey.
